About the tour

Mission of the day: crack the secret of the pyramids.

Today we meet some of the most famous structures in human history.

But instead of asking “when was the pyramid built?” we tackle a far more interesting question: how did the ancient Egyptians manage to build such gigantic structures without modern machines?

How the tour goes

The children will look at how the pyramids are made, compare different shapes and find out how ancient Egyptian architecture changed from the first pyramids to the famous pyramids of Giza.

And the Sphinx becomes a riddle of its own — we will try to work out why the ancient Egyptians needed such an unusual creature.

Throughout the tour there are questions, small tasks and architectural details to find, which help children work out for themselves how the pyramids were built and what they were for.
