About the tour
Welcome to the palace where the sultans of the Ottoman Empire lived for centuries.
On this tour the children set out on a real journey through time — meeting palace life, its sumptuous interiors, the traditions of the Ottoman court and the figures of the age they know from the series “Magnificent Century”.
But instead of a long lecture, what waits for them is exploring the palace: questions, observations, a hunt for interesting details and small tasks.
How the tour goes
Let us imagine we have arrived at Topkapı several centuries ago.
Who lived here? What did a sultan’s day look like? Who was allowed into the palace? Where were the important meetings held, and what happened behind closed doors?
The children explore the palace rooms and look for the answers.
Along the route they learn about the sultans, court etiquette, the traditions and the everyday life of Topkapı’s residents.

How to prepare
You do not need to know any Ottoman history. The children learn everything worth knowing during the tour itself.
You can watch a few episodes of “Magnificent Century” beforehand, but there is no need — the tour makes sense to anyone who has never seen it.
Comfortable shoes and a good mood are all our young explorers need.
